This half-day workshop introduces agentic AI through a mix of short presentations, live demonstrations, and hands-on notebook exercises. Participants will explore how LLM-powered agents can be designed to reason over tasks, use tools, call external APIs, work with structured prompts, and carry out multi-step workflows. The course will begin with a guided introduction to the core ideas behind agentic systems, including where they differ from standard LLM prompting, what kinds of scientific and research workflows they can support, and what practical limitations need to be considered.

Open to all postgraduate students and research staff.
